Showing up for those who take care of us.

Healthcare workers that feel supported are proven to provide better, high-quality patient care.

Healthcare Organizations Committed to Showing Up

Shifting from a “Me” Problem to a “We” Problem

The Surgeon General’s role is to point out our most pressing public health hazard. It’s no longer cigarettes; today, it’s our workplace well-being, loneliness, isolation, and the mental health epidemic it’s causing.

This is only exacerbated for healthcare workers — so much so that an advisory was put out solving for health worker burnout.

What can we do? According to research, experts, and the Surgeon General, it’s time to shift from a “me” problem to a “we” problem.

What does that mean? Often, burnout is made to seem an individual problem. But burnout is far from an individual failing when it affects over half of healthcare workers.

The Surgeon General’s action items for healthcare organizations to solve for healthcare worker burnout emphasize that it is only when we take good care of our healthcare workers that they have the full capacity to take good care of other people.

These action items don’t come intuitively. We have the training that develops the skills for healthcare leaders and workers to give and receive support, leading to greater social connection, community, support, and care.

Skills to Ease the Burden & Tackle Burnout from the Root

Far from being “just another burden” healthcare leaders and workers have to take on, Showing Up training is intentionally designed to provide the easy tools, strategies, and frameworks that make care and support easy.

When scaled, it produces an evergreen, self-regenerating culture of care and human flourishing.

“Creating an environment in which nurses feel they have the support of their managers, and where they can ask for help when they feel overwhelmed or unsure, can go a long way to improving working conditions and minimizing turnover.” — Yasmine Mustafa
