Required: Request Assessments & Pre-Surveys

Proprietary data collection is a foundational core of our work. We use Alchemer*, a survey platform software, to survey and assess individuals, groups, and organizations. The surveys we use for the Awkward Zone Workshop include:

  • The Awkward Zone Assessment - Required for the Awkward Zone Workshop.

  • The Personal Care Profile - Sometimes used in conjunction with the Awkward Zone Workshop. Note: taking the Awkward Zone Assessment and completing the Awkward Zone Workshop (or at the very least having a very in-depth understanding of the Awkward Zone) is a pre-requisite for the Personal Care Profile. Can be administered at the end of a workshop with a QR code.

  • Stop Start Continue - Optional and occasionally used as an accountability, goal-setting, and/or reporting measure. Participants, after a training or keynote, write down practices, behaviors, or mindsets they want to stop, start, and continue after they’ve learned the material. Can be administered at the end of a workshop with a QR code (or you can go old-school and have them write their goals on index cards).

  • Evaluations: For collecting feedback on a workshop, keynote, program, or other training.

*Alchemer Privacy Policy: Any organization or group that you work with can rest assured that their data will remain secure, protected, and confidential. Alchemer does not sell data, nor do we at Showing Up—the data is owned by us. To read or send a client Alchemer’s official privacy policy, click here.

By Jen Marr, Founder & CEO of Inspiring Comfort, LLC
With Skye Quinn, TIME
Foreword by Dr. John Draper, Director of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, Vibrant

How do we “show up” for coworkers, friends, classmates, family, acquaintances, and even strangers when we are all struggling?

Experts in the mental health field are recognizing that we do indeed need each other. We can’t self-care our way out of this. It takes intentional connection – the reciprocal relationships within our homes, workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, and communities — to ultimately bring about our emotional resilience.

Showing Up breaks it all down. It uncovers the behaviors that get us off track and outlines the science of how human care works. It equips individuals, leaders, and organizations to break through the Awkward Zone™ so that people in your life know that you care. Filled with evidence-based tools and strategies, as well as touching stories, this book is a guide to bringing strength and hope to others and ourselves.
